Cultural center and capital of New Zealand, Wellington is vibrant city located in a beautiful cove surrounded by tall green hills which is an amazing natural landscape.
Cozy and very friendly, Wellington concentrates a set of art galleries, museums and theaters, as well as shopping centers, bars and restaurants.
At one end of the city are the New Zealand Parliament Buildings and the Beehive (a famous hive-shaped building). At the other end is the historic Embassy Theater - setting of the well-known The Lord of the Rings.
The capital also host the national museum Te Papa, the Royal New Zealand Ballet and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. Every two years the city promotes the New Zealand Arts Festival, a month-long national and international theater, music, dance, comedy and opera show.
Only one hour from the capital is Wairarapa, a rural area with small towns and extensive pastures surrounded by magnificent mountains.
