The Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, known as TESOL, is a course to train teachers for teaching English.
This course has been specially designed to meet the needs of those who have English as a second language.
With an average duration of 4 to 16 weeks, the fundamental objective of the program is to allow the understanding of the most important principles for language teaching, in addition to the main techniques of approach to study topics and teaching methodologies.
The course focuses on areas in which students can improve themselves according to their personal and professional interests.
To carry out this course it is necessary that the student has an intermediate-advanced level of English. This proof is made through the presentation of proficiency exams such as the IELTS or TOEFL certificate.
Some schools offer their own language tests for acceptance in these programs.
For those who wish to prepare for the TESOL program or only better their language proficiency, the AC Australian Centre offers several types of English courses, such as General English, IELTS preparation, Cambridge preparation and English for professionals purposes.
