TESOL


The Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, known as TESOL, is a course to train teachers for teaching English.

This course has been specially designed to meet the needs of those who have English as a second language.

With an average duration of 4 to 16 weeks, the fundamental objective of the program is to allow the understanding of the most important principles for language teaching, in addition to the main techniques of approach to study topics and teaching methodologies.

 

TESOL Course: main areas of study

The course focuses on areas in which students can improve themselves according to their personal and professional interests.

  • Improvement of skills and knowledge in reading, grammar, writing, listening and speaking English.
  • Organization and planning of classes.
  • Criteria and methods for the evaluation of students of different levels
  • Development of academic curriculum
  • Language teaching techniques for students with specific purposes
  • Promotes practical experience in language teaching

Prerequisites for the TESOL program

To carry out this course it is necessary that the student has an intermediate-advanced level of English. This proof is made through the presentation of proficiency exams such as the IELTS or TOEFL certificate.

Some schools offer their own language tests for acceptance in these programs.
